There was no entrance nor exit in the yellow building with no window, no door, no ceiling and no ground, nothing but a shallow yellow which was turning into various layers of colors depending on the time of the day. The group of friends moved around with a deep sense of anxiety which became unsustainable when several beings approached them with a gloomy look on their spotless and squared face with no eye and no mouth. At that precise moment, the salamander and the butterfly disappeared, never to be noticed again.

The little girl with a red pullover accompanied by her unfortunate followers, among them some aloof penguins and an old man without a head were walking in the streets of a city which they wrongfully believed was Vienna near the Austrian Ocean. They were wondering among a crowd of heartless humans whose purpose in life was, apparently, to scream nonsensical phrases linked to the perception they had of a world with character and purpose but without outsiders. The little group led by the redhead girl called upon one of these unfortunate souls to show them the direction of Arezzo where Piero della Francesca’s frescoes were hidden. But this did not have any meaningful impact and soon enough they found themselves in front of a golden building without an entrance

The little girl with a red sweater, the penguins, a salamander, a butterfly and an old and sad man were packed in a small boat drifting away on the Austrian Ocean on top of what used to be Vienna. The little salamander wanted to get wherever he could admire Piero Della Francesca frescoes while the penguins vaguely remembered that they were in principle aiming at finding where the ice-cap had gone, the butterfly was longing for a cup of tea and the old man did not desire anything but peace which he believed was deeply entrenched at the bottom of this particular Ocean. They could not agree on where to go but had no desire to argue, particularly since they did not understand one another. At one point a penguin noticed that they had no oars nor sails, a fact which was not necessarily a good sign but no one else seemed to register this information. They all watched the sea which was indifferent to their aspirations while the little girl who could not hear, see or feel anything started smiling at the perception of freedom and plenitude which slowly infiltrated her skin and bones.

The girl with red shoes, the penguins, the salamander and the butterfly were evolving in a world which was setting new grounds, tentacles and channels on a daily basis. They could not grasp the oddity of it and were quite frankly impermeable to any concept of this nature. Instead they decided to dance and sing in mute voices to celebrate the beauty that resided in the inner self of any being, whichever or whoever it is. When this was done, they sat on a bench next to an old man and remained still for a long time.

Wandering in a world which was losing its meaning step after step, the Penguins looked at the ground underneath them and discovered shadows of worlds that had been, worlds that could have been and worlds that would never be. All of them were moving around like brainless sparrows with no apparent sense of direction or purpose. At that moment they understood that the point was not that much what had to be done but how they were to do it and they noted with an immense feeling of satisfaction that nothing which they might have done or omitted to do in their tiny lives of penguins lost in this or whichever other nonsensical world could shame them. They felt proud about it and when looking at the salamander, the butterfly and the little girl with a red pullover they sensed without being in a position to prove it that they were all in the same position. Who was the culprit? did they wonder but they could not respond to this absurd question because their perception of the world was blurred and ineffective. The girl tried to speak but no sound emerged from her childish lips.
